I was born in Chester but grew up in Yorkshire and that's where I think of as 'home', despite having raised my family within reach of a Tube station.

I did my first voice job, a book review on the radio, at the age of eight and have been talking while pressing buttons for my entire working life - experience as radio presenter, TV sound supervisor, live sound engineer and musician all means I know my sound, while having directed ('showcalled') many large and high-profile shows gives me an awareness of the 'bigger picture' that not many voice artists can claim.

Along the way I presented mid-morning on a couple of BBC local stations, had one solitary appearance on Radio 2, played bass at the Albert Hall and did studio sound for the very first series of Masterchef.

As of autumn 2016 I'm back to my roots as a regular daytime producer/presenter on High Wycombe's new radio station Wycombe Sound, it's a very flexible arrangement so I'm still available for your awards show!
